Hey conference goers,

Preceding YAPC::EU::2005 - the European Perl Conference -
the organizers kept us updated with what's going on.
I did not have the time and the courage to keep such a long
running diary so I guess I'll have to send many small updates
in the coming week, just before the conference.

So this is the first one.

Sponsors
=========
First of all you'll see the names of the sponsors at the top and
the bottom of these messages. In other conferences sponsors get
spots in the main track to give their marketing talk. In OSDC
marketing is kept at very low level. We want to focus on technical
content and being grassroot. Hence what the main sponsors get are
these lines on our announcements and they can also fill the
conference bag with their marketing material.

I really would like to thank all our sponsors as without their
support this conference could not be organized.

Population
===========
As of Thursday, 16th February there were 132 people who committed
to come to the conference either as speakers or by paying the
registration fee.

Wiki
======
The conference now has a wiki that can be used to share information.
http://wiki.osdc.org.il/
It has yet another separate registration system.

Transportation
===============
There are several ways to arrive to the Netanya Academic Collage,
we are still lacking clear directions, so if there is someone out
there who could write down how to get to the collage from the
train station and/or how to get there by bus it would be of much
help to others as well. you can post your description to the
discussion mailing list or on our wiki.

Car-pooling
===========
There are many people coming from Jerusalem and other distant areas.
I would like to encourage everyone to share their transportation
weather that's a car a bicycle or a public bus. Again, you
can discuss this on the mailing list or on the wiki.

Gabor
ps. After all this turned to be quite a long message.
