I ran into that one during one of my talks. Real time configuraton by 
committee with audience participation is not good for most lectures. 
Unless the lecture happens to be a configuration workshop.
Acceptable font size also depends on the room size and screen size.
For colors I suppose there are more general "don'ts" that are probably 
applicable to most projectors.
