Since you asked:
1. All Perl 6 related talks (Larry, Audrey, Yuval etc.) gave my some insight in to the (new ?) language, but actually stressed how much I have to learn Perl (again!).

2. I finally became convinced that Python is a poor excuse for a language and that I should forget all plans that I ever had about learning it.

3. Alon Altman's talk on CGI pushed me to finally learn the module (that and the fact that I now have an autographed book from the auction on the subject). Unbelievable as it is, until now I wrote all my web pages manually. And to make things worse, I am the department webmaster :(

4. I enjoyed Ofer Brandes's talk about visual programming. Although I have my doubts about its ability to succeed as a concept, it is an interesting concept and the talk was delivered well.

5. Peter Gordon's talk about wxWigits reminded my both why I had once wanted to learn how to use them and why I gave up (too complicated and no real use for me).

6. The auction took up waaaaaaaaaay too much time.

7. I was reminded why I didn't like cafeteria food in University.

8. Hamakor people robbed me of 100 NIS again, even though I hadn't planned on renewing my membership this year. They should be in sales ;)

9. Last but defiantly not least - it was great seeing all of you again. See you next year again.

Subject: [OSDC Israel] feedbacks from the conference

I need feedbacks.

Please don't just go back to your daily work. Take the time to write a
few senteces about
the conference. Speakers want to know what did you think about their talks,
organizers would like to know what do you think about the
organization, the place,
the schedule, the food, whatever.
How would you improve things?

It will be very important to see what did you learn that helped you in
the daily work.
I am sure there were many people who learned new techniques that helps
their company
save money within weeks. I would like to get these stories.

It is very important to write about this so next year it will be
easier for you to convice
the boss to send you (again). It is also important so others, who did
not come this year
will see how much it is worth and will come next year.

Gabor
ps. In case you don't want to send this to the public e-mail list, you
are welcome
to send me privately.
