[OSDC Israel] One day passes [was Re: Pricing for OSDC::Israel::2007]

I want to bring up a couple of points on one-day passes that came up in
the past:

Do we want to be strict about one-day passes? The only way to know if
someone's used their one-day pass is to have different looking one-day
passes for each day (not a problem - a colored stripe or numeral at the
side or somewhere else that looks nice makes this easy to easily
differentiate between passes). That allows us 3 options as far as I can
see(or maybe someone could point out others?):

1) Have people pick which day the pass is for at sign up time (or some
time before normal sign-up ends), or for on-the-spot sign ups, we'll
have spare daily passes there. This is easiest to manage once the
conference starts, but requires us to have the schedule up enough in
advance for people to have a general idea of which day they want (it
really should be ready that soon, regardless). It also requires work on
YAPCOM to implement.

2) People can pick the days on the spot. We'll have to pre-print
nametags for each one-day attendee for all three days. Whomever is at
the registration desk will have a list of attendees and will need to
ensure the person in question has not shown up already on a previous
day, mark them down, and stuff (or print) the nametag for the person for
with the tag for that day. That's easiest on the preparation work, but
is realistically an administrative nightmare to pull off.

3) Give one-day attendees a normal (or uniform 1-day) nametag. People
are on their honor not to misuse that.

Thoughts?

  Yitzchak
