[OSDC Israel] Pricing for OSDC::Israel::2007

Hi all,

we have started to make the first preparations for next years conference.
I have many open issues and I think I'll ask the for advice of the people
on this mailing list.

The current issue is pricing.

I would like to her ideas on how to price the conference.
- It needs to be simple - I don't want to spend too much time on
administration -
- On average it has to cover costs
- I would like to give lower price to students or other people whom
are paying for
  themselves and let companies pay higher prices.
  IMHO this is fair both because companies have much more money than individuals
  and because for them it is expense, they get tax return on it.

  In the previous conference there were a few people sent by their
companies to pay
  the individual fee and told them they will get the money back.

  It actually made me lots of extra work - writing receipts for each
  person separately -  but more importantly it made me quite angry and sad.
  I would like to avoid this.

I also noticed several companies paying for 1 3-day pass and then
sending different
people on different days. I would like to avoid this, so everyone will
have his/her
own name tag and will get the proceedings.


The prices were 650 NIS full fee 450 NIS early bird fee for companies
290 NIS/190 NIS for individuals.
50 NIS discount for ISOC and HaMakor members.

We also introduced a 1-day pass when the early bird ended at the same price
of the 3-day early bird price.


So what do you think what should be the pricing?
- Company/individual prices?
- Do we need 1 day passes?
- What should be the prices?
- Who should get discount?
- How early should be the early bird?
